American Collection: The Song of the Lark PBS airdates: Wednesday, May 2 repeating Sunday, May 6 at 9 pm in the usual Masterpiece Theatre time slot.
Willa Cather's moving 1915 tale of Thea Kronborg, a Scandinavian-American singer and her devotion to her art. Starring Allison Elliott and Maximilian Schell.

Talking Heads 2: Miss Fozzard Finds Her Feet

Patricia Routledge plays Miss Fozzard in Alan Bennett's intriguing monologue about a spinster and her passionate podiatrist. Life seems to have passed Miss Fozzard by, until she stumbles on a new specialist to look after her feet. As she tells it, their relationship develops in a most unusual direction.

American Collection: Cora Unashamed

The premiere title of ExxonMobil Masterpiece Theatre's American Collection, Cora Unashamed is Langston Hughes's moving Depression-era story of an African American domestic -- working in a stifling Midwestern household.
Set in the 1930s, the story takes place in the tiny town of Melton, Iowa, where the Jenkinses live isolated lives as the community's only African Americans. Their precarious existence is supported solely by Cora's earnings as housekeeper to the Studevants.

American Collection: The American

The era when upstart America challenged the ancient privileges of Europe is portrayed in The American, an adaptation of Henry James's darkly romantic novel and the second title in ExxonMobil Masterpiece Theatre's American Collection, devoted to presenting outstanding American drama.

David Copperfield

Bob Hoskins is the ever-optimistic Mr. Micawber, Academy Award-winner Maggie Smith is David's upstanding Aunt Betsey, and Ian McKellen is the sadistic schoolmaster Mr. Creakle in this sparkling adaptation of Charles Dickens' beloved novel based on his own difficult journey from boy to man.
